Gary Ruddle, age 68, passed away on February 20, 2026. He passed peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, and under the care of his Abbott Hospital Comfort Care team. He was a lifelong resident here in Lakeville, Minnesota.
Gary grew up on the Ruddle Family Farm and attended All Saints Catholic School and Lakeville Public Schools during which he enjoyed participating in 4H and showing animals. His favorite was his horse, Princess.
Gary enjoyed being outside, hunting deer, riding motorcycles and snowmobiles, and watching the birds at his bird feeders, especially the hummingbirds. He got the most satisfaction working with his hands, spending time in his shop, keeping up with yard maintenance, and loved to spend as much time as possible on his big, green John Deere mower.
Preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Irene (Donnelly) Ruddle Mahowald; step-father, Francis Mahowald; sister, Patricia Ruddle Dooley; brother, Thomas Ruddle; infant brother; brother in-law, Jim Rollman; mother of his four children, Denise (Betzold) Ruddle.
Survived by his children, Thomas Ruddle, Erin (Russel) Egan, Jennifer (Andrew) Glover, Amanda Ruddle; sisters, Linda Ruddle, Kathleen Ruddle Rollman; brother, Robert (Katie) Ruddle; grandchildren, Brody, Bradley, Caleb, Alissa and Gabriella and many other extended family members, friends, and loved ones.
Service held Monday, March 2, 2026 at All Saint Catholic Church, 19795 Holyoke Ave., Lakeville. Memorial visitation at 10:30 am, funeral service at 11:30, followed by a luncheon at 12:30. Interment will be held at All Saints Cemetery in Lakeville immediately following the funeral.
Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers; please make a donation to the cause of your choosing in memory of Gary.
