Aaron Arnold Freeman

Aaron Arnold Freeman, age 88, of Gulfport, died Sunday, May 30, 2010 in Gulfport. Aaron was born in Green County, Ms and was a long time resident of Gulfport. He graduated from Jones Junior College in Ellisville and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He owned and operated the Hosery Mill in Bassfield for thirteen years. He worked for the State of Mississippi as an employee of the Employment Security Commission, retiring in 1984 as a field representative. He is a member of Handsboro Methodist Church.

Mr. Freeman was preceded in death by his first wife, Lucy Williamson and second wife, Lexie Touchstone; his parents, Millard and Estella Freeman; brothers, M.L. Freeman, Myron Freeman, and Raymond Freeman; and a sister, Edna Freeman Gill.

Survivors include his wife of twenty-five years, Juanice Freeman of Gulfport; two daughters, Sylvia Keck and Joyce Talbott of Gulfport; a sister, Alva Wilder and husband, Thad Wilder of Dallas, TX; five grandchildren, Sean Burns and wife, Tressa Burns of Columbia, Lynn Miller and husband, Mike Miller of Prentiss, Bronwyn Dyess and husband, Randy Dyess of Petal, Colleen Powell and husband, Ray Powell of Canton, Michael DeAngelo and wife, Stephanie DeAngelo, of Gulfport; and eleven great-grandchildren.

The visitation will be Tuesday evening June 1, 2010 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport. The funeral service will be Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Serving as pallbearers for the service are; Sean Burns, Randy Dyess, Ray Powell, Jared Powell, Gary Beach, and Michael DeAngelo, and Mike Miller as an honorary pallbearer.

Interment will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Gulfport.
