Arthur Lewis Hawthorne

Gulfport, MS

Arthur Lewis Hawthorne was born in Hattiesburg, MS. He was affectionately known to his family and friends as "Groove". He was formally employed at Gregory Construction Company, Mississippi Power and Ingalls Shipyard and was a member of Washington Chapel C.M.E. Church. Arthur Hawthorne passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017 in Gulfport at the age of 63.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Earleen Hawthorne.

Arthur Lewis leaves to cherish his memories: daughters: Fanya Hawthorne-Wilson (Ron Wilson) of Oakland, CA and D'Jwana Spann-Stallings (Greg Stallings) of Kansas City, KS; sister: Angela Hawthorne of Gulfport; brothers: Bobby Hawthorne of Biloxi, Clarence Hawthorne (Donna Hawthorne), Jerry Hawthorne and Freddie Hawthorne of Gulfport; five grandchildren: BeJour Wilson, Darrion Wilson, Baylei Wilson, Morgan Stallings and Jordan Spann; aunt: Catherine Forte'; uncle: Liddell McNair; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be 2PM Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Good Deeds. Visitation will be two hours prior to service time.
