Vancleave
Donna Jones Burges of Vancleave, passed away Thursday, September 6, 2018 surrounded by loving family and caregivers. She was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She was born on September 25, 1940 in Jones County and graduated from Laurel High School. She graduated from MSCW in 1961 with a bachelor of science degree. She moved to the Gulf Coast in 1982 and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ocean Springs. She enjoyed quilting, reading, gardening and football. She was an excellent cook and delighted in preparing large family meals. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Preston A. and Gladys Jones of Laurel. Survivors include her husband, Rufus T. (Pete) Burges; her children, Cynthia Burges, Bart Burges and Viki (Bret) Swynenberg; four grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Douglas A. Jones (Mary Gayden).
There will be a visitation at 10:00 am followed by a celebration of life service at the First Presbyterian Church of Ocean Springs at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 22, 2018.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.

Donna was a great friend to so many. She was kind, caring and very hospitable. I will miss her and her special laugh that made everyone smile. Quilt away in heaven Donna. Love you.
