Gulfport, Mississippi - Dorothy Jean Edwards Parker, age 94, of Gulfport, MS, passed away August 10, 2022.
Dorothy was born October 22, 1927, in Gulfport, MS. She was a graduate of Gulfport High School and Gulf Park College (now USM). Dorothy was a member of the Gulfport Garden Club and St. Peter's Episcopal Church, where she served many years in the Altar Guild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh A. Parker, Jr.; her parents, Ruth Carr and Elmer A. Edwards; sister, Anne E. Bates; brothers, Richard M. Edwards and David E. Edwards; her daughter, Ruth Anne Harrington; and 2 grandchildren, Elizabeth Leigh Dewey and Jordan Elliot Pitre.
Mrs. Parker is survived by her children, Hugh A. Parker III (Pierrette), David E. Parker (Judy), and Mary Parker Corbin; son-in-law, Gary Harrington; grandchildren, Anne Pitre, Carly Harrison, Heather Matthews, and Heath Rowlan; 4 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
A Memorial Service will be 11am, Friday, August 26, 2022, at St. Peter's by the Sea Episcopal Church. Interment will follow in Floral Hills.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that you please donate to Feed My Sheep, 2615 19th Street, Gulfport, MS 39501.

Dot was a good friend and lovely lady. I knew her for many years, going back to our days of planning the new building project at St. Peter's by the sea Church, then post Katrina when she had just moved from our west Gulfport neighborhood back to east Gulfport then lost her home there. We had many good visits together. May she rest in peace, and light perpetual shine upon her.
