E.A. "Brother" Dartez

1940 ~ 2013

Biloxi

Mr. E.A. "Brother" Dartez, age 72, of Biloxi, MS, died on Friday, July 19, 2013.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elpha Dartez, Annette Higginbotham Dartez Williams (Mack), twin sister, Annette Dartez Valence and brother, Purvis "Putsey" Dartez.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Judy Dartez, brother, Curtis (Martha) Dartez, children, Ronnie (Dee Dee) Dartez, Sr, Brian Dartez, Teresa Rusche', grandchildren, Ronnie (Molly) Dartez Jr, Ashley Dartez, Blake Dartez, Regan Dartez, Kaleigh Dartez, Hannah Rusche', great-grandson, Ayden Dartez and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Brother, a lifelong resident of Biloxi, was a retired carpenter and tile setter. He enjoyed Sie Simon style dancing, going to the Brown's Creek Hunting Camp, building wooden scale custom model boats, cooking by carrying on his mother's recipes, playing freecell on the computer and attending his sons, grandson's and great-grandsons's baseball games. He was also an avid fan of Braves, Ole Miss and Saints. As Brother would say, "That's the whole thing in a nutshell!"

The family would like to give special thanks to the Memorial Hospital ER, ICU units and 5th floor cardiac staffs for all of their special care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be sent to the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation, P.O. Box 96280, Washington, DC 20077.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 23, 2013, from 11 am until 1 pm, with a 1 pm Mass of Christian Burial, all at the Blessed Francis Seelos Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Biloxi City Cemetery.
