Etta Greco Failla died after a brief illness on Wednesday, July 30, 2008. She was born in New Orleans on June 22, 1914 and was the beloved wife of the late Anthony Failla, M.D. Mother of Terry Failla Reymond (Leon J. Reymond, Jr.) of New Orleans and Rose Merle Failla Barrett (Dr. Hoshall S. Barrett, Jr.) of Gulfport, MS. Grandmother of Noel Reymond Christmann (Paul), Leon J. Reymond III (Cate), Renee Reymond Hulefeld (Michael) and Hoshall S. Barrett III (Rebecca), Rosetta Barrett Wagner (John), Suzanne Barrett Maquire (Brian) and eight great grandchildren. Sister of Marguerite Greco Cicero of New York and Ree Greco Federico (Sal) of New Orleans. She is preceded in death by her parents Rosa and Sam Greco and her sister, Josie Greco LaNosa, Mamie Greco Congelosi, Jane Greco Spicenza and her brother Buddy Greco and great-grandchildren Jack and Hannah Beth Wagner.
She was an active community volunteer throughout her life. The most dear to her were the Orleans Parish Medical Auxiliary and the Hotel Dieu Medical Auxiliary where she served as President.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Friday at Noon at St. Francis Xavier Church, 444 Metairie Road, Metairie LA 70005. Visitation at Church at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to St. Francis Xavier Church Building Fund, 444 Metairie Road, Metairie, LA 70005 or the charity of your choice.
