Eunice Monk Simmons, 79, beloved mother, sister and grandmother, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2007 surrounded by her children, sisters and grandchildren at Ocean Springs Hospital.
She was born in Biloxi, MS on February 2, 1927. She graduated from Biloxi High School.
Eunice and her late husband Roy moved to Moss Point, MS in 1964 and opened the Moss Point Bakery that they operated for 25 years. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Moss Point.
Eunice was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, Roy Simmons; her parents, Joseph and Winnie Wadrick and a sister, Georgia Monk.
She leaves behind, to cherish her memory, her loving children, Debbie (Larry) Creel of Gautier, Joseph Simmons and Greg Simmons both of Ocean Springs; two sisters, Eva (Larry) Hayden and Rose (Jimmy) Hall both of Biloxi; four grandchildren, Tammy Winstead, Tracy (Kevin) Walters, Lori Winstead and Ricky (Diana) Winstead and eight great-grandchildren, Johnathan Walters, Christopher Walters, Joshua Walters, Breanna Walters, Brittni Sirmon, Megan Sirmon, Katelyn Winstead and Dylan Winstead.
She is dearly remembered by special family and friends; stepsister, Jackie James; Trisha Buckner, Kerry Clark, Mary Philly and Imogene Turner.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 27, 2007 at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes, where friends may visit one hour prior to service. Burial to follow at Biloxi City Cemetery.
