Evelyn L. Alfonso, age 93, a native and lifelong resident of Gulfport, died Saturday, November 27, 2004, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Alfonso was a homemaker, and a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Gulfport, where she was a member of the Altar Society. She was a member of the Lettie McAlpine Homemaker's Group, and was a volunteer worker with the American Cancer Society.
Mrs. Alfonso was preceded in death by her husband, A. J. Alfonso, Sr.; her parents, August Lindahl and Edna Lindahl; and sisters, Alma Broussard and Althea Perry. Survivors include two sons, Andy Alfonso, Jr., and his wife, Mary, of Gulfport; and Donald Alfonso and his wife, Sherry, of Pass Christian; grandchildren, Andrea Crowson and her husband, Thomas; Andy Alfonso, III, and his wife, Suzanne; Paul Alfonso; Donny Alfonso and his wife, Heather; and Cindy Lott and her husband, David; great-grandchildren, Mason Alfonso, Ivan Crowson, Keegan Alfonso, Shelby Lott, Alden Alfonso; and three expectant great-grandchildren; cousin, Hannah Phillips; sister-in-law, Marie Alfonso; brothers-in-law, Carl Alfonso, Vincent Alfonso; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Gulfport on Tuesday, November 30, 2004, from 9:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Gulfport.
The family prefers memorials to St. Vincent de Paul at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 2414 17th St., Gulfport, MS 39501.
Riemann Funeral Home, 25th Avenue in Gulfport, is in charge of arrangements.
