Mr. Henry C. Thensted, Jr. (Buddy), age 80, of Ocean Springs, MS., passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2008.
Mr. Thensted was born in Biloxi, MS. on February 7, 1928, and spent most of his life there.
Henry served in the United States Coast Guard and the United States Navy from 1946-1951. He captained a service tender for oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico and retired from Ingalls Shipyard after 25 years of service as an indoor/outdoor machinist. Henry's motto for life was "don't say you can't do it instead tell me how you can do it."
Henry was a much beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and friend that will always be missed by those who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Walters Thensted, his father, Henry Charles Thensted, Sr., his sister, June Avrett and his many beloved cats.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Jewel Irene Thensted, who was the jewel of his life, a daughter, Brenda, two sons, Henry Thensted, III and Michael Thensted and a sister, Joycell Wilson.
Visitation will be on Sunday, September 14, 2008, from 5-8 p.m., at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. On Monday, September 15, 2008, there will be a 10 a.m. religious service in the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Old Biloxi City Cemetery.
