John Shanders, Jr., of Union, MO, formerly of Biloxi, MS was born August 25, 1939 in Royalton, Illinois, son of the late John Shanders, Sr. and wife, Anna, nee Ohanick. He passed away Saturday, December 27, 2008 in Union, MO at the age of 69 years.
John served his country in the United States Air Force from 1956 to 1976. He served during the Vietnam War. After retirement, he was a master plumber for many years. He moved to Missouri after Hurricane Katrina to be closer to his son.
John is survived by his former 1st, 2nd, and 3rd wife, Bessie Shanders, of Washington; one daughter, Julie Makovec and husband, Mike, of Oak Grove, KY; three sons, Tony Shanders of St. Louis, Scott Shanders and wife, Tammy, of McDoughnough, GA, and Nick Shanders and wife, Angie, of Washington; other relatives, and friends.
Mr. Shanders was cremated and burial was private. The Shanders Family was served by the Oltmann Funeral Home in Washington.
