Kathy Comstock Obituary

Kathy Sue Comstock
December 28, 1951 - December 9, 2021
Biloxi, Mississippi - Kathy Sue Waltman Comstock, a lifelong resident of Biloxi, passed away on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at the age of 69. Kathy was born on December 28, 1951 in Biloxi to Mr. and Mrs. Willie Waltman. Kathy was the youngest of eight children. She attended Biloxi Senior High School and graduated in 1969. After high school, she worked in the clinic of Dr. Bolton and Dr. Middleton in downtown Biloxi. Later, she worked for 32 years at The Peoples Bank. She worked in the savings department until her retirement in 2008. Before retiring, Kathy attended the University of Mississippi, School of Banking and received an Associate's degree in Banking. Kathy loved serving people and taking care of her customers. Kathy was always a happy person with a smile on her face.
Kathy and Chuck Comstock were married in Biloxi at Nativity Church on July 15, 1972. Kathy had two children, Bryan Comstock of Gulfport and Andrea Donovan of Gulfport. In 1978, Bryan was born and in 1982, Andrea was born. Her two children were the greatest things that ever happened. She loved being a wife and mother. When her children started attending Nativity Catholic School, she threw herself into helping with any project such as the annual Halloween carnival or PTA. She would often volunteer her artist husband to help with a project. Both of Kathy's children excelled at academics for which she was extremely proud.
Kathy was active in her church, Our Lady of Fatima, for many years. Originally, she was baptized a Baptist and attended First Baptist Church of Biloxi as a child. But, during the early years of marriage, Chuck and Kathy attended catholic mass in their area. For more than 20 years, everyone thought she was a Catholic. When she signed up for RCIA, it surprised everyone including Monsignor Farrell. After being confirmed a Catholic, she taught religious education for many years.
Kathy loved watching and cheering on the New Orleans Saints. Also, Kathy enjoyed cake decorating for different occasions and playing Pokino with friends. Kathy adored her two grandsons, Gavin and Zackery. She loved attending soccer games and school functions for her children and grandchildren.
In 2007, she was diagnosed with early stages of Parkinson's disease. However, this did not slow her down. For many years, she enjoyed swimming, walking and boxing at Rocksteady Boxing with fellow Parkinson's friends.
Another love of Kathy and Chuck was undertaking the task of restoring a 1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass S. Her husband did the majority of the work. Since 2003, they have enjoyed entering the car in Cruisin' The Coast. Due to health reasons, Kathy could not attend the 2021 Cruisin'.
Kathy Sue Waltman Comstock is preceded in death by her two parents, Willie and Victoria Waltman of Biloxi, her four brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her husband, Charles Comstock, III of Biloxi, her sister Eloise Gill of Biloxi, her children, Bryan (Amy) Comstock of Gulfport and Andrea (Bill) Donovan of Gulfport and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
