Lulu Edwards Holman, 85, of York, Ala., died May 5, 2008.
She was preceded in death by her husband William Steele Holman, mother Lois Akin Edwards, father William Edwards, sister Lois Edwards Kirby.
She is survived by her daughters Mary Holman Sukiennik (Jim), of Ocean Springs, sons William Steele Holman (Lee) of Mobile, Ala., Allen Edwards Holman (Tammy) of Nederland, Tex., grandchildren Kait Sukiennik, Matt Sukiennik, Steele Holman, William Holman, also Katherine Landry, Mary McGahagin and Susan McGahagin, great-grandson Jackson Sukiennik.
Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. May 7 at Bumpers Funeral Home. Service was held at 10 a.m. May 8 at St. James Episcopal, with the Rev. Richard Losch presiding.
Pallbearers were Everette Roberts, Bill Catlett, Michael Beard, Ronnie Beard, Tom Webb, Allison Derby, Jimmy Guin and Skip Fox.
The family wishes to thank the Gardens of Ocean Springs, MS and the care-givers of Home Instead Senior Care for their devoted care for Mrs. Lulu.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. James Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 446, Livingston, Ala., 35470.

When I think of you and your mother, it is with the warmest memories. Mrs. Holman led her life in such a way that she blessed everyone who knew her. She was a true treasure in my teenage life. You are in my prayers.

Friends, So sorry to hear of the death of Ms. Lu. She was so dear to me when I lived in Sumter County and taught at Sumter Academy. I still think of her wonderful lemon cake she always brought to the Country Club! Treasure your memories and know your friends are thinking of you! Love!
