Lyle Page Obituary
Mr. Page was born January 26, 1932, in Biloxi, MS. Community leader, loving father and friend to many, he was a founding member of the law firm of Page, Mannino, Peresich and McDermott. He was associated with the Peoples Bank for over 30 years as a director and advisory director and as a director of the Peoples Financial Holding Company. He was an active member of the Episcopal Church of The Redeemer where he served on the vestry many years, including two terms as Senior Warden. He was past Chairman of the Board of Gulf Coast Carnival Association and was King D'Iberville in 1993. He was also a member, past king and president of Mithras Carnival Association.
He attended the University of Southern Mississippi and graduated from Tulane Law School in 1954. He practiced law in Biloxi for 57 years. He was a member of the Biloxi Bar Association, Harrison County Bar Association, Member, and president in 1961, of the American Bar Association, member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, Member of the Mississippi State Bar, Member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers, Member of the American Society of Hospital Attorneys, Member, and Vice Chairman for 1968 till 1988, of the Harrison County Law Library Commission.
He served as Prosecuting Attorney for the City of Biloxi from 1961 till 1971, Attorney for the City of Biloxi Planning Commission from 1961 till 1971, and the City Attorney for the City of Biloxi from 1971 till 1973.
He was an active member of the Biloxi Regional Medical Center Board of Directors, past president of the Biloxi Jaycees, past president of the Biloxi Chamber of Commerce, and past president of Howard Memorial Hospital Board. He served on the Board of Trustees of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College from 1963 till 1966. He established and was trustee for the Bleuer Scholarship Fund which since 1991 has helped over 400 students from Biloxi attend college.
His first love was for his family who affectionately called him "Bebo". He was also respected and loved by those he worked with and was honored one year by being chosen "Boss of The Year". He may also be remembered for his love of Biloxi and for fishing from his beloved boat "KAP 'N GIN".
Mr. Page was preceded in death by his first wife, Ann Page, and his parents, L.M. Page and Kathryn S. Page. He is survived by his wife, Mildred "Millie" Ball Page; daughters, Kathryn Ann "Kappy" Page Stephens and her husband, Lawrence, and Virginia Elizabeth "Ginny" Burton and her husband, Ken; grandchildren, Lyle Stephens, PageAnn Stephens, Sheila Covran (Ivan), Kristy Burton, Eddie Burton; great-grandson, Talon Everett Davis; step-daughters, Connolly Clark (James) McArthur and Erin Clark (Steven) Kavanagh; and step-grandchildren, Jay McArthur, Logan McArthur, Clare Kananagh, Morgan Kavanagh, Hugh Kavanagh and Paul Kavanagh.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to the Episcopal Church of The Redeemer Building Fund, Popps Ferry Road, Biloxi, MS 39532, or to the Lyle M. Page Scholarship Fund, c/o MS Gulf Coast Community College, Perkinston Campus, Perkinston, MS 39573.
Visitation is Monday, July 25, 2011, from 4:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue, in Biloxi. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Tuesday, at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer where friends may visit one hour before service time. Interment will follow in Southern Memorial Park.

I am so sorry to just hear of the passing of Mr. Page. My deepest sympathy to his family and all who knew him. I recall Mr. Page most when I worked as staff attorney for the City of Biloxi. He smiled and enjoyed life which caused me to smile with him. Mr. Page was a noble Man. I am proud of the little part of his life he shared with me. He will be missed by many.
