Michael Andrew Newman

May 25, 1956 - December 12, 2023

Biloxi, Mississippi - Michael "Nemo" Newman left this world on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, after a lengthy illness to be reunited with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and all those who've gone before him with the sign of peace, including his parents, Willard A. Newman and Mary Marinovich Newman.

He leaves behind his partner, Borage Huang, and her two children. Michael is also survived by his beloved brother, Will M. Newman, his wife, Nancy, and their children, Vicky Mouch (Jimmy) and David Newman (Sharon); David's daughter Madi Bigott (Josh) and their children, Owen and Olivia; his sister, Darlene N. Hartmann (Fred) and their children Mara Hartmann (Patrick Hicks) and son, Christo, and Heather Furr (Henry) and their children, Isabella and Campbell.

Michael graduated from Biloxi High School, attended Mississippi State University and graduated in 1979 from the University of Southern Mississippi, where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He was the owner of American Detective Agency in Biloxi, and a talented artist, avid gun collector and motorcycle enthusiast.

Michael was a Catholic who loved his Savior and will be remembered in a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, Dec. 20, by co-celebrants Rev. Patrick Mochler and Rev. Henry McInerney at 1:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Biloxi. Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m.

The family would like to thank Michael's dear friend, Dean Wise, and the staff at Canon Hospice for their devotion and caring attention during his long illness. We appreciate their thoughtfulness and support.

As you read this, Michael has been welcomed into heaven by those who preceded him. You see, love creates an eternal bond! Do not grieve his dying; celebrate his having lived.
