Picayune, Mississippi - Nell Causey Williams, age 94, of Gulfport, MS, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2025, surrounded by her family. Nell was born in 1931 in Liberty MS during the great depression. She was raised on a self-sustaining farm without electricity or indoor plumbing. She married Odell Williams in 1951 and shortly thereafter they moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast where they raised three daughters. She was a Homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Gulfport where she sang in the choir. Nell expressed her love of music throughout her life with her beautiful voice. She always saw the bright side of every situation - the one spot of blue in a dark sky. Having been born in 1931 you can imagine the changes she experienced during her lifetime.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank R. Causey and Ida Mae Butler Causey; husband, Odell Williams; daughter, Kristi Lynn Kitchens; brothers, John Causey, Victor Causey, Wendell Causey, and Morris Causey; and her sister, Mildred Campbell.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Sylvia (Robby) Dreyfus and Charlotte Thigpen; grandchildren, Robert (Julie) Dreyfus, David Dreyfus, John (Chelsea) Dreyfus, Grady (Catherine) Thigpen IV, Brian (Emily) Thigpen, Scott (Kim) Kitchens, and Drew (Caroline) Kitchens; great grandchildren, Sara Reye Dreyfus, Robert Thomas "RT" Dreyfus, Addy Dreyfus, Eliza Dreyfus, Oliver Dreyfus, Sadie Thigpen, Mac Thigpen, Sam Thigpen, Charlotte Thigpen, Thomas Thigpen, Clark Kitchens, Knox Kitchens, Tess Kitchens, Graham Kitchens, and Landry Kitchens; her sister, Glenna Tumey; and numerous nieces and nephews.
