D'Iberville, Mississippi - Phyllis Ann Marchese, 83, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2021 in Ocean Springs, MS. Phyllis was born in Chicago and married Peter Marchese in 1956 relocating to Biloxi, MS in 1980. After Katrina, they spent nine years in Hattiesburg before relocating to D'Iberville. Their final move came in 2019 to Lighthouse Assisted Living and Memory Care in Ocean Springs due to Dementia and Alzheimer's. They were married for 63 years.
Phyllis was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved cooking, baking, traveling, music, flowers, chocolate, ice cream and Pepsi. Phyllis was an active member of Al-Anon for over 25 years helping others through sponsorship and service work to support members. She was also a student at Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at the University of Southern Mississippi Hattiesburg.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Harold Phillips, her husband Pete Marchese and daughter Laura Marchese.
She is survived by her daughter, Liz (John) Gaulke of D'Iberville; her son,
Greg Marchese (Tammy Nelson) of Gulfport; granddaughters Sharon (Robert) Shavers of Gulfport; Megan Gaulke (Trey Symington) of Starkville; Anna Marchese of Houston; Claire Marchese of Gulfport and great-grandchildren Kannon Varnado and Emma Shavers of Gulfport.

Our family would like to express our deepest appreciation to the caring and dedicated staff at Lighthouse Memory Care and Notre Dame Hospice for the love and patience shown to our mother.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Bradford-O'Keefe, 2511 Pass Rd in Biloxi followed by a reception. Phyllis's urn will be placed next to our dad at a later time.
