Perkinston, Mississippi - Ralph L. Diaz, Jr. was born on October 11, 1942, in Biloxi, MS. He played football for D'Iberville High School where he was honored as Little All-American. He graduated in 1961 as Mr. DHS.
He served in the United States Army from February 5, 1961-September 5, 1966 as a sergeant in transportation.
He served as a Sheriff's deputy and later as Chief of Detectives in Harrison County.
Later he became a court crier and bodyguard for a United States District Court judge.
He finished his working career as a conservation officer with the Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks.
His hobbies included hunting with family and friends, collecting knives, and being the life of the party at family gatherings.
He was predeceased by his parents, Ralph L. Diaz, Sr. and Dorothy Moran Diaz.
He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Carol Sue Diaz; siblings, Chester (Nancy) Diaz, Rose Ann Seymour, Kathy Lepre; children, Ralph L Diaz, III, Darlene Diaz (Steve Allen) and Corey Diaz (Deanna); grandchildren, Summer Knesal (Jarrod), Justin Diaz, Cameron Diaz, Ashley Walters (Cody), Tyler Buckley (Shelbi), Braley Diaz, Briton Diaz; great-grandchildren, Avery, Taylor, Peyton, Cole, Sage, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Service will be 3:00 p.m., April 6, 2021, at Sunflower Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m.- 3:00 p.m., April 6, 2021, at Sunflower Baptist Church. Moore Funeral Service in Wiggins is in charge of the arrangements.
