Randall Lee Grierson, age 59, entered into eternal peace on Thursday, July 12, 2007 at his home surrounded by family and friends.
Acts 20:35 In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work, we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said, "It is more blessed to give than receive". Isaiah 57:2 "Yes" says the spirit "they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them."
Mr. Grierson fought a courageous battle against pancreatic cancer for more than 10 months and was preceded in death by his parents, Lyman and Evelyn Grierson.
Randy was born September 24, 1947 and was a life-long resident of Pascagoula, MS. He graduated from Pascagoula High School in 1965 and attended the Jackson County Community College and served in the U.S. National Guard. He worked for the past 23 years as a sales rep at Gulf Sales & Supply and truly enjoyed his work, his customers, and people in general. Randy was a simple man, but a hard worker and loved his home and neighbors. He was loved by many and always made you smile. He faced his fears head on and never shied away from a challenge. Persistent, determined and humble are some simple words that describe Randall Lee Grierson.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Randall Matthew (Jennifer) of Cleveland, MS.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberly (Rev. Bill Pettus) of Brandon, Ms., Luci (Michael) Knotts of Pascagoula, MS.; six grandchildren Malorie and Madison Pettus of Brandon, MS., Sydney and Stone Spradlin and Garrett Knotts of Pascagoula, MS., and Austin Grierson of Cleveland, Ms.; a sister, Sharon Cossell of Senoia, GA; nieces, nephews and a host of special friends especially Pastsy Patt, Pat Cotten and Barbara Larzeno.
Visitation will be Friday, July 13, 2007 from 6-9 p.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point, Ms. The funeral service will be Saturday July 14, 2007 at 11 a.m. from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bill Pettus officiating. Burial will follow at Machpelah Cemetery in Pascagoula, Ms.
Pallbearers will be Marshall Smith, Don Rawls, Keith Thornton, Richard Young, Matt Stone, Fred Ros, John Hudson and Hunter Higdon.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be given to Merchant and Marine Bank to establish a scholarship fund as he always encouraged his children to complete their education.
A special thanks to Dr. Ehlert and Dr. Stanovich for a comforting hospital stay and your genuine concern too.

Although I had only one opportunity to spend time with Randy, he shared his humor and positive attitude. Because of my friend, Patsy, I have to come to appreciate his kindness to others and his love for family and friends. You are in my thoughts and prayers. God bless you and give you peace.
