Richard Nellums Obituary
Mr. Nellums was born in Centry, FL to the late Aaron Richard and Fronia Shoemaker Nellums. His passion was law enforcement. He worked as a deputy sheriff, patrolman for Mississippi Highway Patrol and the Gulfport Police Department, and retired as a deputy for the U.S. Marshall Service. His hobbies included fishing and enjoying life.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his children, Richard Wayne Nellums, Jr., Mike Nellums , Kelli Wilson of Gulfport, Lisa Huber, and Jaimie Lanham, and Tina Savage, all of Gulfport; 21 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 18, 2009, at 10am at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, where friends may visit one hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Gulf Pines Cemetery in Long Beach.
