Mr. Robert Joseph Foster, Sr.
, age 60, and a resident of Ocean Springs, entered into eternal peace with his Lord on Monday, October 3, 2005, in Biloxi, MS.Mr. Foster was born on August 14, 1945, in Bay St. Louis, MS., and was a Gulf Coast resident most of his life. He served in the Mississippi National Guard and was a longtime employee of MCC Mechanical where he was highly regarded by his co-workers and employers. His hobbies included fishing, camping and traveling.
Mr. Foster was a devout member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Ocean Springs. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus Council #5654 where he faithfully served in different offices including Grand Knight. He also was a member of Alhambra.
Mr. Foster was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow Sr. and Laura Foster, and his brother, Woodrow Foster, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Allen Foster, sons, Robert Foster, Jr. and Greg Foster; all of Ocean Springs; daughter, Angela Cumbest, and three grandchildren, Austin Martin, Kelsi Martin, and Joseph Cumbest, all of Moss Point; brothers, James Foster of Pass Christian, Ben Foster of Biloxi, Mike Foster of Memphis, TN., Toby Foster of Cullman, AL., John Foster of Biloxi; sisters, Ann Hines of Ocean Springs, Rosie Cates of Biloxi, Genell Foster of Biloxi, Peggy Page of Foxworth, MS., Velma Parks of Biloxi, Brenda Roberts of Garden City, MO.; and a host of nieces , nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be on Thursday, October 6, 2005, from 6-9 PM, 7 PM Rosary, all at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. On Friday, October 7, 2005, there will be an 11 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, where friends may visit from 10-11 AM. Burial will follow in Crestlawn Memorial Park.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the Biloxi Regional Medical Center emergency room, critical care unit, and the Oncology Group of Gulfport.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church.
