Robert Szepek Obituary

Mr. Robert Lawrence Szepek, age 31, born in Syracuse, New York and a resident of Mobile, Alabama, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007 at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center in Mobile, Alabama.

Mr. Szepek was preceded in death by his mother, Susan Ellen Andrews Szepek; his maternal grandmother, Loretta Andrews; and his paternal grandparents, William and Estelle Szepek.

He is survived by his father, Robert William Szepek, of Bay Minette, AL; his step-mother, Cathy Peterson Szepek, of Bay Minette, AL; his grandparents, Wes and Joyce Andrews, of Cicero, NY; two brothers, Timothy Jeff Szepek, of Pass Christian, MS, and James Michael Szepek, U.S. Army, Ft. Lewis, WA, in Iraq; two step-brothers, Chuck Kernells, of Bay Minette, AL, and Brandon Kernells, Ft. Bragg, NC; and his life-long friend, Aaron (Tracy) Plaisance, of Long Beach, MS.

There will be a memorial service for Mr. Szepek Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007 at 1 p.m. at Temple Baptist Church at 14190 Dedeaux Road in Gulfport, Miss., with Pastor Stephen Crane officiating. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007 from noon to 1 p.m. at the Temple Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Kidney Fund, 6110 Executive Blvd., Suite 1010, Rockville, Maryland, 20852.

The Szepek family would like to say a special thank you to Port City Dialysis, Nephrology Associates, Mobile Infirmary Medical Center and Cogburn Health Care.

Cremation arrangements are by Norris Funeral Home, 402 E. 2nd Street, Bay Minette, AL, 36507. (251) 937-9596.
