Rodney Eike Obituary

Rodney Paul Eike Jr., age 64, of Gautier and formerly of Mobile, AL died on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2007 in Pascagoula.

He was born June 3, 1943 in Mobile, AL. He was a United States Army Veteran having served during Vietnam in the First Calvary Division. He was a proud graduate of Auburn University where he received his Master's Degree in Forestry. In 2001, he retired from Champion Paper Company after 28 years of employment. In 2002, he started his second career at Jackson County Tax Assessor's Office.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Rodney Paul Eike, Sr., and Donna Marie Eike;

son-in-law, Rodney Seymour.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Yvonne Eike, Gautier; two daughters and one son, Rhonda Goddard (Pete), Cumming, AL; Paula Seymour, Ocean Springs; Robert Eike (Debra), Prattville, GA; brother, Michael Eike (Carolyn), Birmingham; seven grandchildren, Amanda and Peter Goddard, Colby Eike, Katy Seymour, Sydney Culumber, Abigail and Caleb Eike.

Funeral Service will be Friday, Oct. 26, 2007, 2:00 p.m., at Mobile Memorial Gardens in the Mausoleum of the Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Auburn University, School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences Scholarship Fund, Attn: Angie Stephens, 602 Duncan Drive, Auburn, AL 36849-5418.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Jackson County Tax Assessor's office and Jackson County Employees for there support during his illness.
