Aunt Holly, Lori & Jaime,
We are so very sorry about the passing of Uncle Roger. He was such a thoughtful and wonderful man. Even though we live far away he would always think of us by sending us coin sets for the year we were married and for the birth of our children and that always touched my heart. I loved how he was such a big New England sports fan! I remember last year when the Pawsox were in the championship series and he messaged me on Facebook just to let me know he was so excited he could watch from Gulfport and to make sure I let Dad know he could see it! Or how he sent us all a picture of him on Thanksgiving night with his Patriots gear on to watch the game. He will be sadly missed. God Bless you all, you are in our thoughts and prayers each day. Love to you all <3

Roger's smile helped me through many hard moments during my Chief initiation. EVERY time I was close to losing my temper, he was in front of me smiling saying "Dennis you don't want to do anything stupid" and I couldn't help but smile back. We went SCUBA diving many times together in Puerto Rico and I could count on him to be there behind me keeping an eye on me. Although we lost touch, I will miss him and will have fond memories as of him until my turn comes to meet be in Heaven with him. He was truly a great and loving man.

Roger was a great co-worker. His wealth of knowledge will be missed throughout our command. To his wife and family he spoke about you often. What devotion to family. He considered his son-in-laws his sons. No matter what happens in life love NEVER dies. God has prepared a place for him where there is no sorrow, or suffering but only rejoicing in Gods glory. God has blessed him and has bestowed his blessing upon you. His life is to be celebrated.
It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad; for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found. Luke: 15-32

My dear friend and former co-worker was a great man. He ALWAYS thought of others before himself. I got to know Roger when I was a 1NCD and we worked curriculum issues together. What talent and devotion he showed. I was so fortunate to be able to talk with him just 3 days prior to his passing and I will always remember our conversation. Roger had a wonderful family and always spoke of his wife and daughters with genuine love. Holly you were really blessed to have such a wonderful man. God has called Roger to his permanent home where he can watch over you. God bless.

Holly, Jamie and Lori,
We were sad to hear the news of Rogers passing. We had some great times in Adak and I will always remember him. He was a wonderful, kind and great person to be around. He had an art of being a taxidermist and when I look at the duck I will always remember him. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I am going to miss my dear friend deeply. Roger and I came into the Navy around the same time and we' first meet in EO "A" School right there in GP were he decided to make his home. We established a friendship bond that lasted until he was called home to the lord. Ironically Roger and my wife Irma had been working as counter parts for a few years before they knew Roger and I were friends. She came from a course pilot one evening and aske me if I knew Roger Salois.....I said of course I do. I've known him almost thrity years. I remember his first tour of duty out of "A" School. He went the Australia the land down under and I went to Morrocco. Where Roger told me I won't be the minority anymore(being the only black guy in our class) and that I will now be with the majority. I will always remember the fun times we had in "a" school. Like the times I would hang all night drinking and then come to class and ace the exams; and Roger who studied all night would get an 85 percent on the exams...boy that use to piss him off with me. He couldn't understand how I never crack a book to do home work and I bet him everytime on the test scores. To Holly and the Salois family; I am my family are deeply sadden by the lost of your love one and our dear friend. We will always hold and cherish his memory in our hearts. May God bless your family during these sorrowful times.

Aunt Holly, Jamie & Lori, we are so very heartbroken about the passing of Uncle Roger. A wonderful man taken way too soon. He always was a family man. Even though we have lived miles apart for so long Uncle Roger always sent me a birthday message on Facebook during the month of my birthday. Also both my children have coins sent from him in their baby boxes for they birth year. The time a he would come and visit he was always so full of life and had a smile on his face and it was if he was just always around! Such a wonderful man who will be missed but will be forever in our hearts. Love to all of you!

Today a true friend, a fellow Seabee and former Colleague will be remembered. Even though we are far away and can't be there, know that we are there in spirit with the entire Salois Family. During our many years of friendship Roger was always there to lend a hand and offer support like a good friend would. So today, I pay a final Salute to one of the best and may he Rest in Peace. Until we meet again Shipmate!

Roger really was my best friend thru out several years when we were Seabees together. We worked together in New Orleans for about a year after his retirement, and the hours we spent together driving back and forth from Gulfport to NOLA and the many debates and discussions are some of my most cherished memories. And Suzuko and I will always remember the nights playing cards, eating Sheppard's pies and the fantastic bond between our two families.
Roger taught me patience, and I became a better person; he had very high standards and I was challenged to keep up with him and not disappoint him while trying to live up to his standards in life. Yet he always had that infectious smile. I can't remember a time when he was not up and ready to face the world, always cheerful and always seeing the positive things in our daily trials.
And I will never forget those Senior Enlisted Lunch hours we shared. Every time I think of Rodger, I break out in a smile. He truly was my BFF, and I will miss that smiling face a lot, but I will never forget him.
Holly and Girls, Suzuko and I send our deepest condolences, but just remember you had a most wonderful Husband and Father and we were all blessed just knowing him. I can't understand why he left us so young, but it must be that God needed an honest, caring and fantastic craftsman with a terrific sense of humor.
In Buddhism, we believe that all the people we are close to in this life will join us in our next life. As a Buddhist, I know I will set with him in my next life on some far away veranda and we will laugh, joke and enjoy telling Sea stories again. Farewell my Friend.
