Ruby S. McManus age 88 and a resident of Gulfport died on Saturday.
Mrs. McManus was a native of Shivers, Miss. and was longtime coast resident. During World War II, she proudly served in the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps, was later employed by Miss. Power Company as a cashier until her retirement.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow McManus, parents, Lem and Susie Sullivan, brothers, W.T., Pat, Charlie, Pert, George and Dale Sullivan.
Survivors include her son Kevin McManus and his wife, Maureen of Gulfport, siblings, Johnny Sullivan, Bill Sullivan, Jerry Sullivan, Ollie Mae Westmoreland, Peggy Sullivan and Lois Stegenga. Also by one grandchild, Heather Adams and her husband, Chuck and by one great grandchild, Kevin Adams. Special thanks to Tilley Ashworth for her caregiver role.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at the Solid Rock Pentecostal Church, 346 Quitman Lane, Brookhaven, Ms. where friends may call after 10 a.m. until the service at 12 noon in the church. Burial will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery in Copiah County.

MY GRANDMOTHER, WAS MY BEST FRIEND AND SHE WAS ALSO LIKE A MOTHER TO ME. I COULD CALL HER UP AT 11:00 P.M. AND SHE WOULD TALK TO ME ABOUT MY PROBLEMS. I MISS HER LIKE CRAZY BUT I KNOW SHE IS IN A MUCH BETTER PLACE NOW AND SHE IS WITH HER HUSBAND, HER MOTHER, AND HER FATHER, AND HER BROTHERS. GOD BLESS, WE LOVE YOU GRANDMOTHER,
