Sierra Angelic Jones, was born in Mountain View, California on March 14th, 1997, to Sarah and Roshaun L. Jones, Sr. The second of four children, Sierra faced all the typical challenges of growing up in a full household. However, her life was far from typical and her family is far from ordinary. Sierra comes from a very close knit family that is part of a very large, and loving extended family.
Sierra, lovingly referred to by her father as his "dark-haired angel," was passionate about life and loved her family intensely. She was a natural leader whose kind heart and playful nature brightened the lives of those who were honored to know her well. She was thoughtful and sensitive, strong-willed and protective of those she loved… especially her siblings.
With a father that is highly driven and competitive and a mother who is nurturing and patient, Sierra inherited a warm personality, witty insight, influential leadership and an awesome smile!
Sierra attended the University of Southern Mississippi and was a Computer Engineering major. In 2015, Sierra graduated from St. Martin's High School with honors, where she was a key player for the women's basketball team and a vital member of the JROTC program. Sierra Angelic Jones transitioned Home on Monday, March 28, 2016 at the age of 19.
This lovely flower leaves to cherish her memory, her parents; two sisters, Shaunise Jones and Savannah Jones; and a brother Roshaun Jones, Jr. Sierra is also survived by her grandparents: Robert E. Jones, Sr.; Angela Hairston and Deborah R. Jones; uncles: Robert Jones, Jr., Romone Jones, Ronelle Jones, and Patrick Guinane; and aunts: Rochelle Obi, Amy Frye, Rosalynn Bershell, Kathleen Guinane, and Rosetta Johnson; god-parents, Ronald and Angelic Verzaro. And not to be forgotten, a host of cousins and a special community of dear friends.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 4, 2016 at 12 Noon at the Gruich Community Center, 591 Howard Avenue, Biloxi, MS 39530, with viewing two hours before. Share condolences at www.RichmondAugustFH.com.

My sincere sympathy in this tragic loss of such a lovely young woman. I met her in 2008 inPhoenix when I visited my daughter, Rayna Small, and granddaughter, Sagirah Mathews, as Shaunise is Sagirah's friend. Sierra was only 11 at the time and went hiking with us. She had a lovely smile that lit up her whole face. I clearly remember her smiling face and her wonderful sense of humor, even though she was only eleven.
