Gautier, Mississippi - Steve V. Pemberton, 72, of Gautier, MS, passed away peacefully on October 30th, 2021 surrounded by his loved ones. Born in New Orleans, LA, Steve was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Steve lived in a variety of different places domestically and abroad throughout his adventurous life before returning to the Gulf Coast to be close to family. From these experiences, he became an avid storyteller and loved to entertain his listeners with stories of his past, particularly from his many years in Alaska where he worked in the oilfield industry. Steve was an enthusiastic outdoorsman, tinkerer, and creator. The many stories of misadventures and adventures alike will continue to be told and shared fondly in his memory.
After retiring from the oilfield industry, Steve turned his attentions toward invention, and from these efforts several designs were patented, and a successful business was founded. Fast Flow Pumps, established in 2004, continues to be an important fixture in Moss Point, MS and is managed by his son.
He is survived by his loving wife Pamela Pemberton; children, Lacey McElderry, Courtney Pemberton, Amanda Edwards, and Jordan DuPre; grandchildren, Clara and Reese McElderry; father, James Pemberton; siblings, Jimmy Pemberton, Mary Walker, Suzzanne Redd, and Donna Atkinson; life-long friends, Buddy Broome, and Wayne Hearn; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Molly Pemberton; brother, Glenn Pinson; mother Juanita Langley; and his cherished dog, Jetta.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Heritage Funeral Home, 9721 MS-63 on Saturday, November 6th beginning at 2 pm.
