SUSAN ASADOOR Obituary

Susan passed away at her home in Clovis on Friday, January 24, 2014, after a private battle with breast cancer. Born on February 2, 1960, in Fresno, she grew up attending Clovis schools graduating from Clovis High School in 1978. Susan then went on to receive a Bachelor of Science Degree in Ornamental Horticulture from California State University, Fresno where she was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority and served as President for her chapter. She later continued her education at the University of California, Los Angeles. Susan was a licensed California Landscape Architect, working in commercial landscape throughout California. Susan most recently worked alongside her husband Randy, to develop Keystone Fruit and Vegetable. Through this endeavor, they were able to provide fresh produce for a number of national food banks. Throughout her life Susan had many passions; among them was her love for horses, art, and traveling. She won many awards for showmanship with her horses and recently had her art featured at the Fresno Art Museum's Trashique event. Susan's greatest love in life was her two boys. She volunteered at their schools and was a constant presence in all their activities. Growing up, she loved the outdoors and took many trips with her family. Susan and Randy continued these traditions with the boys; taking them fishing on the Delta, on numerous camping trips to the High Sierra's, and many vacations to the beach. She will be remembered for the passion and love of her two boys that consumed her, as wells as her beautiful spirit, both inside and out. She will be deeply missed by her husband Randy; her sons, Grant and Blake; and stepdaughter Morgan. She is also survived by her parents, Roger and Roxie Petersen; brother, Grant Petersen and his wife Kristin; sister, Carolyn and her husband DanTriplett ; sister, Kathleen and her husband Matt Spain; in-laws, Roger and Ann Asadoor, and her many nieces and nephews who adored her. A Private Burial was held on Saturday, February 1, 2014, at Academy Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m, on Saturday, February 8, 2014, at Fort Washington Country Club in Fresno. Relatives and friends are welcome at the reception. Remembrances may be made to: American Quarter Horse Foundation, P.O. Box 32111, Amarillo, Tx., 79120 c/o Susan Roxie Asadoor; or Thoroughbred Aftercare, c/o Mr. James Hastie, 821 Corporate Drive, Lexington, Ky., 40503, also in memory of Susan Roxie Asadoor.

Susan was a sister in art, and her paintings expressed the joy she saw in life. She had a compassionate nature but had a passion for life, her boys, her family. I shall miss her terribly, and my greatest sympathies go out to the family.

I recently met Susan when she brought her boys to Sunday School. They are very dear. We all send our love to her sons, Blake and Grant, and her husband, Randy. I think Susan trusted God at all times, and her gentle ways will stay with us.

Susan was such a wonderful and talented woman. She worked with me on several projects we designed over the years including the landscape design for Ducey's at Bass Lake. Always graceful and a joy to work with, she will be sorely missed. My condolences to the family.

Dear Asadoor family,
I am so saddened to learn about Susan passing away. I got to know Susan from her bringing Grant and Blake in every 6 months for their dental appointments. She had such a peaceful, kind, and gentle nature about her....and that beautiful smile of hers spread all the way to her eyes. Those are the things I will miss. I agree with the others that say, "Heaven has gained an angel". My thoughts and prayers are will you all.

An angel here on Earth and now an angel in Heaven, watching us as we try to cope with such a loss. My thoughts are with the Petersens, Randy and the family, as I know how much Susan meant to all of you. To the rest of us who knew Susan, tell someone today about how you knew one of the sweetest and kindest people that ever lived. Susan, my family and I are heartbroken, but we understand that you are watching.
