Tommie Wallace Obituary

Tommie Lee Wallace

Tommie Lee Wallace was born October 3, 1935 in Covington County to the late Doyace and Lillie Mae Wallace. He attended Jones County Training School in Taylorsville MS. In 1956 he married the late Geneva Crosby. To this union six children were born whom he loved dearly. In 1985 Tommie Wallace married Carolyn Alexander Wallace who had four children and he became a loving father to them as well.

Tommie Wallace became a member of the First Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Bishop Robert Nance. He served as Sunday School teacher and later the Sunday School Superintendent under the Leadership of Elder Wilford Bishop. He retired from Delchamps after 40 years of faithful service as a Meat Department manager. He was known for his bright smile and willingness to help. Brother Wallace passed away January 2, 2005.

Brother Wallace was preceded in death by his parents, and three sisters, Vivian Lucille Wallace, Dorothy Lee Holloway and Mary Magdalene Wallace.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 19 years Carolyn Alexander Wallace, ten children: Tommie Dexter Wallace of Biloxi, MS, Frederick (Deidre) Wallace of Oceans Springs, Carolyn Benward of Pascagoula, MS, Dwayne Wallace of Biloxi, MS, Sharon (George) Spellman of Bowie, MD, and Tanya (Tony) Causell of Gautier, MS, Kimberlyn (Jerry) Vance of Mesquite, TX, Aaron Wallace of Biloxi, MS, Rhonda Wallace of Edgard, LA, and Aarno (Clarice) Wallace of Chicago, IL. He will be significantly missed by his siblings; Levester (Bobbie) Wallace of Columbia, SC, Corrine (Richard) Kelly, Charlean Johnson of Chicago, IL, Eloise (Jerome) Lee of Taylorsville, MS and Betty (Lonnie) Davis of Biloxi, MS, twenty-five grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. Services will be Saturday, January 8, 2005 at Nance Temple COGIC in Biloxi at 2PM. Visitation will began 2 hours prior to services time at the church. Burial will follow at Biloxi City Cemetery. Care of my husband is entrusted only to the professionalism of MARSHALL FUNERAL HOME.

I worked with Tommy at Delchamps back in the 60's and 70's. He always had a bright smile and was a hard worker. I am sure the Lord has a very special place for him in Heaven.
