SUN PRAIRIE, WI - Marie A. McCoy, a beloved sister, wife, mother, friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at the age of 92. She was born on September 25, 1933 to Morris and Gwyneitha Brattlie. She married Marvin McCoy on January 27, 1962 at Perry Lutheran Church in Daleyville. Marie was a proud farm wife, dedicating her life to a prosperous egg and dairy farm in Sun Prairie. Her love for animals was infectious. She brought such joy to each furry friend she met. Her love for the land was matched only by her passion for her favorite teams-the Milwaukee Brewers and the Bucks. Marie enjoyed traveling with her husband and family to dinner shows, casinos, and polka events. Marie was a proud member of Burke Lutheran Church. She devoted her time and talents as Treasurer of the BLCW and making lefse with her church friends. She also enjoyed her time being a long-time member of the Dorcas Circle. Marie is survived by her four children, Marlene (Bob) Laufenberg, Mark (Shelly) McCoy, Marlow McCoy, and Marcia (Ryan) Thomas. She is survived by six grandchildren, Lindsey and Troy Laufenberg, Derek and Trevor McCoy, and Lauren and Matthew Thomas. Marie is also survived by brother, Kenneth Brattlie, sister-in-law Monica Brattlie, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Marie was preceded in death by her loving husband Marvin McCoy, her parents, a brother Reginald Brattlie, sister-in-law Beverly Brattlie, and nephew Brian Brattlie. The family would like to thank the devoted team from Eighth Tower at Meriter Hospital. Marie's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Prairie Gardens for the tremendous care, compassion, and kindness shown to her. Their support brought great comfort and peace to Marie and her loved ones. She will miss her friends there dearly. Above all, Marie loved her family deeply. They were her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment and will be remembered in every story shared and every heart she touched. Funeral services will be at Noon on Tuesday, November 11 at Burke Lutheran Church, 5720 Portage Road, Madison, officiated by Pastor Bryan Lagerstam. A visitation will take place at the church from 9:00 until the time of the service. Burial will be immediately following in the church cemetery. Lunch will be served at the church after the burial.
