Brenda, Dean and family: I am reading this while on a ski trip in France, and am utterly shocked and saddened. My heart goes out to all of you in this terrible loss of an amazing man. I have many fond memories of Alan, from hearing my father speak highly of him when I was a child, to running into him on the ski slopes in Aspen, and our Israel trip together in 2005. Alan's wit and generosity will long be remembered in our community.
