Ari Frank Obituary

Frank, Ari David, passed away on Sept. 2, 2006 during his 20th year of life. He was born in New York City on March 28, 1986. He then moved to Pembroke Pines where he grew into a man. Ari is the son of Larry Frank and Mary Catherine Brain Frank, and the one and only loving brother of Spencer Frank. Ari was a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, and friend to all. Described as a "Man of Tact," his charm drew many into his circle. Although lean of body, his voice was huge, and this booming voice earned him the title "Foghorn." Ari was never known to have any enemies. He attended grade school and high school in Pembroke Pines where he excelled in all subjects, especially math. He then moved on to college at University of North Florida in Jacksonville. Ari was a real searcher. He loved his home state Florida, and surfing. His life revolved around this sport. Surfing was what he lived to do. Ari is survived by his parents, brother, grandmother Dorothy Frank, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, neighbors and friends. "Rest In Peace, and may you always surf in the next life, my loving brother." Funeral services will be held today, September 5th at 1PM at Star of David Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Ari's memory to Temple Beth Emet of Cooper City.

Mr and Mrs Frank,
I didn't have the pleasure of knowing Ari but I heard of your tragedy thru a mutual friend(your neighbor), your story broke my heart. I have two sons of my own ages 20 and 16, and I can only imagine the pain you are both feeling. From what our friend told me Ari was a great kid and you are great parents. I will pray for Ari and your family. although I am a Christian and you are Jewish I believe that one loving God brings us together as one family.

Sincerely,
A mother who is crying with you

Dear Mary Cate, Larry & Spencer,

My thoughts and prayers are with you always as I am walking this walk with you on this sad and difficult road. I know the brightest stars in the heavens above are those we have loved and lost. You were blessed with a wonderful loving son and brother. I cannot offer you wisdom or explanation, there isn't any and I won't pretend there is. But, we will all treasure every moment of Ari’s life forever. And it is our obligation to pay tribute to him by living life to honor his memory. Life never really is the same afterward. But, I have been able to go on, miraculously, for my remaining child and to cling to the wonderful memories, because there is no alternative.

Just take each minute at a time, then it will be in 15 minute intervals and then eventually hourly. I’m not going to tell you it gets easier, but all of you will learn to cope in your own way. The best advice that I can share is don’t forget to breathe.

My heart shares your sorrow and my soul embraces you.

With much love,

Valerie
