Arthur J. Sullivan

Sullivan Sullivan, Arthur J., 86, born December 9, 1916 in East St. Louis, IL. An Lllinois resident until 1978, when he and his family moved to Margate, FL. Deceased June 2, 2003. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in an anti-aircraft unit from 1942 until 1945. He was employed as a maintenance welder by Aluminum Orecco until it closed and then by Dow Chemical until his retirement in 1978. He was a charter member of the veteran of foreign wars post 3805 for fifty-seven years. He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-three years, Marguerite, his devoted son, Michael of Deerfield Beach, FL: five grandchildren, Dr. Michelle Zarrillo (Dr. Lino), Scott Pasterski (Abbi), both of Pennsylvania, three grandchildren in Granite City, IL; Daniel Sullivan, Pamela Sullivan, Marguerite (Eric) Byrd and nine great grandchildren; Peter, Andrew, Maria and Zachary Zarrillo and Lily Pasterski, all of Pennsylvania, and Amanda Griffith, and Darrell, Michael & Kevin Fisher, all of Granite City, IL. He was predeceased by two sons; Arthur, Jr. and Daniel Sullivan and one daughter, Kathleen Pasterski. Also survived by son-in-law, Dr. Thomas P. Pasterski, of Parkland, FL, and a sister, Edna Massing of Senatobia, MS. Arthur was greatly loved by not only all his relatives but by his many, many friends. He will be sorely missed. A wake service will be held at Kraeer Margate Funeral home on Wednesday June 4th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A mass of resurrection will be held at Mary Help of Christians, Parkland, FL at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday June 5th, followed by internment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, North Lauderdale, FL. Rev. Thomas E. Wisniewski and Rev. William Gunther officiating. In lieu of flowers, donation to Mary Help of Christian Building Fund will be deeply appreciated.
