Barbara Petrillo Obituary

Petrillo, Barbara A. of Highland Beach passed peacefully on February 9 surrounded by her family at a hospice in Loveland, CO. Born Barbara Alice Abbott in Ridgewood, NJ on July 4, 1927, she grew up in Glen Rock, NJ and attended Penn Hall College in Chambersburg, PA. While working in New York City she met and married Michael S. Perri. They raised three children in Armonk, NY until he passed in 1959. After marrying Alfred L. Petrillo, Barbara moved to Mt. Vernon, NY where she cared for her family for 15 years. In the 1980s she settled in Highland Beach where she and Al had often vacationed and spent winters. For almost 30 years Highland Beach was her home where she maintained a wide circle of friends and was able to help her two granddaughters grow-up. She served as president of her condominium association and explored her faith in bible study groups. Barbara is survived by her daughter Dr. Laura P. Perri and her wife Taya King and daughter Alliya King of Loveland, CO and her sons Michael W. Perri and his wife Janet M. Coffman of Sacramento, CA and Steven C. Perri and his wife Rosa Mercedes of Woodstock, NY and their daughters Inah Perri and Jennie Perri. A remembrance celebration with friends in Florida will be scheduled. Those wishing to honor her life and memory may send contributions to Pathways Hospice at McKee Hospital, 305 Carpenter Road, Fort Collins, CO 80528.
