Ben Abbott Obituary

Abbott Abbott, Ben R., 91, of Princeton died Tuesday, April 29, 2003 at Princeton Medical Center, Princeton. He was born in New York and lived in the shore area till 1970 when he moved to Palm Beach County living there for 29 years. He returned to New Jersey one year ago. He graduated from Asbury Park High School in 1929, and was a 1933 graduate of Temple University. Mr. Abbott was a CPA in Asbury Park with Zauber, Abbott, Bugni and LaBanca until his retirement in the early 1970. He was Past President of B'nai Brith Shore Lodge, and Past President of the Board of Education in Bradley Beach. He also was Past Master of Jordan Masonic Lodge and the Tall Cedars, a member of the Board of Trustees of Temple Beth El, Asbury Park and served as the Chairman of the Temple Board of education many years. He was an avid golfer as a member of Jumping Brook Golf Club in Neptune and enjoyed fishing the local waters. He was predeceased by his first wife the former Rosalie Hyman and his second wife the former Blanche Stewart, he is survived by two sons, Stephen, Edison, Alan, London England; one daughter, Bette Greenfield, Dayton, NJ; 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Service Wednesday will be at 11:00 from the BLOOMFIELD-COOPER JEWISH CHAPELS, Highway #35, Ocean Township. Interment to follow at Temple Beth El Cemetery, Neptune. Shiva will be observed at the residence of Stephen Abbott in Edison. Donation to Mark Abrams Memorial Foundation, 5 Matilta Dr., Wayside, NJ would be appreciated.
