Brian Gottfried Obituary

Gottfried, Brian J., passed away February 18, 38 years old, Son of Debra and Don Salvin. Beloved husband to Lisa; beloved father to Jacob, Miles and Lilly. Brian brought sunshine and warmth into his friends and family's lives. He had a passion for life, and his laughter resonated in all that knew him and loved him. His greatest joys were his family, his friends, and his children who lit up his heart. Brian found happiness in every way. He golfed on sunny days, and loved to spend time at the beach with his family. He carried his passion for football into adulthood, as he could have been the biggest Steelers fan they had. He was ambitious and hardworking, always wanting the very best for his family. He treated strangers with kindess and opened his heart to everyone. Brian will rest in peace knowing that he lived life to the fullest, and his family and friends will carry in their hearts the memory of him always. After a long successful tenure at SBA communications, the company would like to honor Brian's memory by establishing education funds for his 3 children. The family is accepting donations to the 529 funds for Jacob, Miles, and Lilly Gottfried. We expect these funds will be operational within a week and will provide details at that time.

Dear Lisa, although we've never met, I know Brian was most proud of you and his children. I worked with Brian when I was at SBA many years ago. Words cannot express the sorrow I feel for your family.

With Sympathy,

Dear Lisa,
My heart sunk in shock when Toby told me your beloved husband, Brian, passed away. Words can not express the sorrow I feel for you and your family. I am so sorry for your loss. Please know Brian's spirit is with you always and there will come a time when you will wish more than ever for the chance to talk to him again. When that happens, know that you can because he is listening! Just like God hears our prayers, Brian will hear yours! Lisa, I am praying You, your precious children and extended family will find comfort and strength during this devasting time. Also, there is a wonderful DVD video for children called "When Families Grieve". It's available at sesamestreet.org/grief. The movie explains death to children using the character "Elmo" from Sesame Street. In the movie Elmo's "Uncle Jack" passes away and his father helps him to understand what it means. We shared this video with Kenny after Shaun's father died and it was very helpful. It helped Shaun as well :) Please know I am thinking about you with all my heart.
With Love & Sympathy, Toni, Shaun & Kenny

My dearest Lisa,
You know my heart is breaking for you and your children. I have watched you grow from a young single girl into a wife, mother and solid rock of a person who will do a wonderful job in raising the family you created with Brian. Remember he knew how strong you were in order for him to leave this life and rest peacefully entrusting you to carry on his legacy.
I am here for you...
Love,
Susan

I was so saddened to hear of Brian's passing. I was always happy to see him at various telecommunication events or golf tournaments. He touched so many of us in the industry. He will be missed dearly. Brian's smile, spirit and love for life will always provide me with fond memories of him.
