Catherine Madigan Obituary

Madigan Madigan, Mrs. Catherine (Kay), 83, passed away on June 7, 2003 from complications associated with Alzheimer's Disease at Carrington Place in Matthews, NC. She was born on March 20, 1920 in Brooklyn, NY. Catherine was a graduate of St. Joseph's Women's College and received her Master's Degree from Columbia University/Lexington School for the Deaf in New York. She was married in 1949 to John K. Madigan who preceded her in death in 1978. She was a resident of Garden City, NY for 17 years before moving to Fort Lauderdale, FL for 27 years. She moved to Charlotte in 1995. Catherine spent many years as a teacher of deaf children. She is survived by her family, daughter Maureen A. Madigan of Fort Lauderdale, FL, daughter Catherine K. Madigan of Wynnewood, PA, daughter and son-in-law Denise and John G. Morrison of Charlotte, NC, and three grandchildren, David and Sara Morrison and Grace Madigan. The family would like to express its deepest thanks for the compassionate care that our Mother received for many years from the staff of Carrington Place. A funeral mass was held at Carrington Place on Monday, June 9, 2003 at 2 pm. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC, 28215. Arrangements are in the care of Heritage Funeral Home.
