Charles Papp Obituary

Papp Papp, Charles of Boca Raton passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 3 at his home, surrounded by his adoring family. A loving father, husband and friend, Charles will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Charles was born December 12, 1944 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He enlisted in the US Navy on February 10th 1964, and served his country courageously during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Black. In 1968, the Navy released him from active duty and placed him in the reserve. Charles continued to serve until the Navy honorably discharged him on February 10th 1970 and awarded him both the National Defense Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal with a bronze star. Three years later, on June 23, 1973, he married the love of his life, Cassie, in Hewitt, New Jersey. Charles and Cassie eventually settled in Boca Raton with their two children, Tara and Charles Jr. Charles obtained a business administration degree from Lynn University and worked as telecommunication engineer at Siemens for sixteen years. When he was not working or spending time with his family, Charles pursued his two favorite pastimes, golf and volunteering at the Humane Society. Charles is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Cassie; his two children, Tara and Charlie Jr.; his mother, Clara Papp; his sister, Claire Torbeck; his sisters-in-law, Cody Sullivan, Colleen Shannon and Maureen Gustafson; his son-in-law, John Bajger, his numerous nieces and nephews and his best friend Rover, the family beagle. Charles' family will hold a viewing at Babione Funeral Home, 1100 North Federal Highway, Boca Raton, on Thursday, November 8th from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Friday, November 9th at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, SW 3rd Ave, Boca Raton, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Charles Papp to the American Cancer Society, St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Hospice by the Sea of Palm Beach County or the International Mesothelioma Program, Brigham and Women's Hospital, 75 Francis Street, Boston, Massachusetts 02115. Babione Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements 561-395-8787
