Christopher Hixon, Having been athletic director for close to 20 years in high school, coach and teacher, I know your deep contributions to your community and more importantly the impact youve had on lives of individual students. Though I never knew you, I know you now as an honorable and forever memorable gentlemen who lived the right way and transitioned justly. I admire your heroic effort, just like in the military you served with distinction. I will always remember you Mr Christopher B. Hixon and hold you in the highest regard. It is with a sad heart that we mourn the death of a hero. A hero who to us was a great kid, a kind boy who sat next to us in class, played football, wrestled, and just hung out with us. We graduated and as we all went our separate ways, we lost touch. As we watch the news and read the articles, we hear about the heroism of Chris Hixon. We hear of how he was loved and respected by those that surrounded him. To so many of us who lost touch with Chris after that 1986 graduation, we are not surprised that Chris acted to save others. Some may credit his heroism to his Naval training, and that definitely surely did, but ever since Chris moved to our school and became part of the Class of 1986, the boy we met, knew and adored, was hero material. May you Rest In Peace dear friend.

Mr. Hixon, aka "Robocop" thank you so much for taking our safety so seriously, when I attended Blanche Ely High school. I will never forget how you were always there to make sure we were safe and broke up every fight you witnessed and made sure we went where we had to go. We thought you were too serious about your job, but as an adult and now parent, I am so glad you were. You are a hero Mr. Hixon and we will miss and we thank you for everything.

Chris was a lifetime member of the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association, and volunteered as an instructor of Leadership Training courses for directors of athletics.
