Clark Schwaderer Obituary

Schwaderer, Clark James, 91, of Boca Raton died Monday, November 8, 2004, at Hospice By The Sea Center. Mr. Schwaderer has been a resident at Florida for 48 years, moving to Pompano Bench in 1956, and then to Boca Raton in 1994. Son of Abbie Smith Schwaderer and Charles Bayne Schwaderer, he was born in Minneapolis, MN in 1913. The family moved to Valier, MT where he spent his early childhood and where his father drove a stagecoach. Later his family moved to Kingston, MI where he excelled in high school basketball. He attended Eastern Michigan University, receiving a BA degree, then attended Wayne State University in Detroit where he received his Masters Degree in Education. Mr. Schwaderer taught high school Math and Science in Dearborn, MI and was also Sports Editor of the Dearborn Press. During WW II he served as Lieutenant JG in the US Navy and was stationed at the Naval Air Base in Corpus Christi, TX. Following the war, Mr. Schwaderer was the owner-operator of a Ford-Mercury dealership in St. Marys, OH and was one of the first dealers to receive the Ford Motor Company award for excellence of operation. Mr. Schwaderer was a member of the Mercer Masonic Lodge #0121 in St. Marys, OH and continued to be a Mason for over 50 years. He was a Shriner, 32nd Degree, and belonged to the Mahi Temple in Miami Beach. He was a member of Rotary in St. Marys, OH and a member of Kiwanis in Pompano Beach. He was a member of United Methodist Church in Pompano Beach and in Boca Raton and a member of the Royal Palm Yacht and Country Club since 1960. Clark was a Real Estate Broker in Pompano Beach beginning his career in 1956. In 1960 he was one of the founders of Property Investments, Inc. and served as President for many years. He was active in real estate organizations and he served as President of the Pompano Beach/Deerfield Beach Board of Realtors, District Vice President of the Florida Association of Realtors and Vice President of the National Association of Realtors. He was inducted into Omega Tan Rho Society honoring his service to the real estate profession. Favorite hobbies included cultivating orchids, collecting paper weights and playing golf and bridge. Clark was known for his keen sense of humor and loved the time he spent with his many friends. He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Julia Margaret Schwaderer; two sons, Owen Clark Schwaderer and his wife Linda of Stuart, FL, and Charles Bayne Schwaderer of Boca Raton, FL. Beloved grandfather of five precious granddaughters, Kimberly Anne Schwaderer Alexander and her husband Dr. Steve Alexander of Danville, CA, Julia Alice Schwaderer McGrath and her husband John McGrath of Hickory, NC, Katherine JoAnn Schwaderer Spears and her husband Dr. Daniel Spears of Palm City, FL, Abbie Newell Schwaderer of New Haven, CT and Margaret Allen Schwaderer of Boca Raton, FL. Great grandfather of ten great grandchildren: Kristen, Michael, Andrew and Matthew Alexander, Christopher, Jack, Ryan, Thomas and Julia Grace McGrath, and Ashley Margaret Spears. He was affectionately known by his grandchildren and great grand children as "Grampa Snazzy". A gathering of friends for a Memorial Service will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Boca Raton on Sunday, November 14, 2004 at 4 PM. In lieu of flowers, the Schwaderer family have requested expressions of remembrance be made to the First United Methodist Church of Boca Raton, 625 NE Mizner Blvd, Boca Raton, FL 33432 or to Hospice By The Sea, 1531 W. Palmetto Road, Boca Raton, FL 33486. BABIONE FUNERAL HOME, East Chapel, 561-395-8787 is in charge of arrangements.
