Dear Susan and Monica:

My deepest sympathy to you both. Please forgive the delay in sending this message. Craig's death has been very difficult to come to grips with. I've known Craig for 35 years, and although we didn't have an opportunity to get together often, we were always the best of friends. When we did see or speak to one another, we didn't miss a beat. It was like we were never separated by time or distance.

Craig was an intelligent, versatile fun loving guy. We had some great times together, especially during our Stockton days. Craig liked to challenge people. He challenged me to drive my car on the sidewalk around the lake from the school to our dormitories. Naturally, I obliged. Miraculously, I didn't hit anything or any one. We must have laughed for hours. We knew one another so well, we each knew what the other was thinking. The stories go on and on.

As for you and Monica, the adjustment will be difficult, but, I know that you will see it through. Although we never met personally, I feel as though I know you both through the wonderful words Craig shared with me. He loved you both very much and you must always carry that with you. Like you, I will miss Craig, and, I'll always hold a special place in my heart for him.

If you ever need anything, or, just need someone to talk to, please don't hesitate to call. As I was for Craig for all these years, up to several months ago, I'll always be there for you.

Regards,

Bruce DeVita

Susan - Monica, I still have a hard time with this as I am sure you are also. Craig was my best friend, and I loved him as my brother. I will always remember all the GREAT times that we shared! I am so greatful that we had some quality time together in New York, we laughed till our sides hurt! I will miss argueing with him and getting him going about politics. It was so easy to get him going! Mitchel and Jillian never forget to include him in our prayers at the dinner table. I will miss him. Love, Bruce

Our prayer are with the family. We are only a phone call away. We know that you love Craig, but God Loves Him Best. That might be hard to understand now, but in time you will understand the logic.

Love,
