Frank Messana was everything a man could hope to be in this world. Family came first with Frank; he was a devoted husband who adored his wife Ruth and an attentive father. Frank showed a healthy concern for his children and grandchildren that is seldom seen these days. His very presence was a calm reassurance that things were right with the world - or soon would be. As a law enforcement officer of many years, Frank exemplified the motto "to protect and serve." A member of the Roman Catholic Church, Frank practiced his faith as if his life depended on its authenticity. With a genuine core of deep humility imbued with a sense of personal responsibility informed by experience, Frank was the real thing. He remained concerned about the conditions in the world, because he believed it was his duty and moral obligation to care about people. Frank knew something about what it was to be a human being and of the fragile nature of life. He was strong. He was kind and quick to smile; qualities of spirit that made all the difference to many, myself included. Frank was good man. He is an irrreplaceable human being and will be missed by many.

I will never forget all the times Mr. Messana helped drive Marian and me everywhere for various band functions. He always had a great sense of humour. My thoughts and prayers are with the Messana family. Lisa Bannister Gelfand
