Jane Oglesby Obituary

Oglesby Oglesby, Jane Frances, age 73, of Altha, died peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Thursday, September 27, 2007. Mrs. Oglesby was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond P. Oglesby, parents, Lawrence and Loretta Gaekle and two brothers, Lawrence and Thomas Gaekle. Mrs. Oglesby is survived by two sons, David Oglesby of Altha and John Oglesby of Ft. Lauderdale; one daughter, Mary Oglesby McKenzie and husband Michael of Altha; three grandsons, William Marshall Alday of Tallahassee, John Henry Alday, U.S. Marine Corps, Parris Island, SC and Colin Purser Oglesby of Altha; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Oglesby was a devoted and loving wife and mother. She was an active business partner for over 47 years in one of the largest businesses in Calhoun County. Oglesby Plants International is world renowned in the horticulture industry. She was an active member of the Florida Nurseryman and Growers Association. Anthurium Lady Jane was patented and named after Mrs. Oglesby. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM, today, Sunday, September 30, 2007 at the home of Mrs. Oglesby. A private funeral mass is planned. Memorialization will be by cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations, may be made to Calhoun County Take Stock in Children, 20859 Central Avenue East, Rm. G20, Blountstown, Florida 32424 and Hospice of the Emerald Coast, 4374 Lafayette Street, Marianna, Florida 32446. Hall Funeral Home, 15205 NW CR 274, Altha, Florida 32421 is in charge of arrangements.
