John Moroney Obituary
After school, Jack joined the Hollywood Police Department. Jack then teamed up with his father to work in the Church Goods industry, and they started Moroneys' Religious Art, Inc. in Fort Lauderdale in 1982. Jack Sr. passed away in 1986, and Jack continued to run the business with his sister Janet, until she passed in 2013.
Moroneys' quickly became the go-to Church Goods distributor to many churches, mostly in Florida and the Islands, and Southeast USA. Jack also managed church renovations. Mr. Moroney was well known in South Florida, winning over customers with his big personality and friendly smile.
Jack is survived by his wife of 21 years, Phyllis (Pucci) Moroney, their son, Sean V., two sisters Jeanne Moroney and Jerilyn Ewton (Ron), brother-in-law Tom Murphy (Judy), nieces and nephews: Kelly (Murphy) Pickett (Bobby), Tatum Murphy, Brandon Ewton and Michael Victor, as well as grand-nephew Daxton Pickett, and grand niece Teagan Murphy.
Jack is predeceased by his parents Jack and Janet Moroney, his twin sister Judy Murphy (Tom) and sister Janet Moroney.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Diabetes Association at 1-800-342-2383 or www.diabetes.org, or American Heart Association at 1-800-AHA-USA1 or www.heart.org.
Visiting hours will be held at Barbara Falkowski Funeral Home, 300 SW 6th St., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33315, on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2019 from 2-4 pm and 6-9 pm.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 901 NE 2nd St., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301, on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2019, at 10 am.

Jack,
The best big brother from another Mother. You left on my birthday so we didn't have blackened chicken, blackened shrimp, blackened steak and the Miami Dolphins together. I love you and I hope to make you proud. Thank you for being amazing. Thank you for always making my birthday so special. I miss you. The Dolphins still fall apart in the fourth and you understood. I enjoyed our football moments.

I have not seen the Moroney's for years, decades!
As kids our parents were great friends and often spent time together. This meant the kids did too.
I have many happy memories of Jack and all the Mororney family.

Jack,
Loving. Hard working. A great sense of humor. An amazing Chef. My Dolphins partner in crime. Through the years, you always made sure I was taken care of and that I was safe. Every holiday and on my birthday you made me blackened chicken (no matter how tired you were or how hard you worked). Every hurricane, you checked on me to make sure I was safe. God didn't give me a big brother in my blood line. He did better. He gave me you. I used to laugh when you would call me and say, "Such and such is coming up on this calendar date; and you are singing" because you weren't asking; and you never had to ask. Just tell me when, and I will be there. Every time you said goodbye, you would yell "love you" so we knew. It wasn't unspoken. It was generously demonstrated. Thank you for being you.
I like the quote, "I am a better me because of you." But with you, it is not just a quote. You touched so many lives for the better. All of us are better because of you.
To the Moroney and Pucci families, I send my love. I am sorry for your pain and I am sorry for your loss. We stand beside you now and always.

It was a great privilege to spend time with Jack everytime I joined my kids to see the Pucci's.

I am so grateful to have had Jack as my brother in law. I always appreciated his kindness and warmth to me and my family. Every time we visited he would often ask How's your Mom doing? How about your sisters? A perfect host, I fondly remember the after dinner chats at their long dining room table. He was a caring brother, husband and a proud Dad to his son Sean. I will miss his voice, his laughter and his smile . May you Rest In Peace, Jack.

I treasure my memories of Jack and the Moroney family as I worked from 2001 through 2007 in Moroney's Religious Art in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Jack with his bright and beautiful smile, was a kind man, deeply true to his Irish ancestry, very knowledgeable of church goods industry, helpful in teaching and sharing the business to others. Jack will be missed!
With thankfulness to God: Father, Son and Spirit for God's Love, Mercy and Graces all the days of our earthly lives.
