Joseph Altier Obituary

Altier, Joseph R., Sr., on the evening of July 15, 2012, founder of Boca Raton's first jewelry store (Altier Jewelers), passed away. His loving and devoted wife Marjorie was by Joseph's side during his final moments. Joseph was a celebrated WW II hero that was very proud of his military accomplishments. He served in the Army with honor as a tank driver in North Africa and multiple European countries. Best known for his generosity and kindness, Joseph had an enormous heart that never stopped giving. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten as his name lives on through his jewelry store. Joseph is survived by wife Marjorie; sons Alex and Joseph Jr.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. You're my hero Grampa. A visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, July 19, at Glick Family Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, July 20, at 11 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Boca Raton. Burial to immediately follow at Boca Raton Mausoleum. Glick Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to George Snow Scholarship Fund, or the Louis and Ann Green Memory and Wellness Center.

I remember visiting with my sister in the late 1960's and again with my mom a few years back. You were always a generous uncle. You had great stories on every visit. You will be missed and you will always remain my mother's baby brother.

Words, however kind,
can't mend your heartache:
but those who care and
share your loss wish you
comfort and peace of mind.
May you find strength
in the love of family
and in the warm embrace
of friends.
