Kimberly Smith Memoriam

In Loving Memory of Dr. Kimberly D. Smith 4/9/1973-2/9/2012 You have only been gone for a short while, it seems like forever since we last saw your smile. We know you are in a better place, away from all the pain that you endured day to day. As we celebrate your birthday, we must try not to cry. So Kim, sing along with us, as you sit in the sky. We love you and miss you, Mom and Dad.

To Our Loving God Daughter and Great Niece Kimmy,

We will always remember your jovial personality and how much you believed in reaching out to others. You loved so fully and were totally devoted to your family, children and relatives. As one of the matriarchs of the family, we will always be thankful for your organizational skills and spear heading some of the Florida based Jones-Watkins Family Reunions.

You always showed great courage in difficult moments. One of the earliest being a young 8 year old singing beautifully, the favorite song ("I Don't Feel No Ways Tired") of my sister, your grandmother Robbie Jones Perkins at her 1981 homegoing services.

It warmed my heart and I was also very proud and honored that you chose to attend my alma mater Fort Valley State University after graduating high school.

Uncle Zeb and I are working on setting up our R.O.Y.A.L. (Reaching Out to Youth Advocacy Leaders) Scholarship Fund in your name and honor to assist others in their pursuit of higher education. Your love of knowledge and continuing education will live on in the accomplishments of others.

We love you and miss you!
Well Done Good and Faithful Servant!

Kim, we all know that you have returned to a better place. A place that knows not pain nor suffering and for that, I am grateful. May those of us who were left behind be as blessed to receive the truth and revelation as you have. Only then and at that time will we begin to live life for evermore. Happy Birthday Sis!!!

Cousin Kimmy,
You were a valiant warrior in your fight for a life of quality and dignity for yourself and others. Your emphasis on education, research and funding for care and a cure will be forever appreciated by many who benefit from your foundation. A wonderful gift and legacy!

I am thankful for our last visit in Miami in August 2011. Your positivity was so uplifting despite your physical limitations. I know that you are now a Warrior Angel for the many still in their earthly fight for life, and a Guiding Angel for those when the time comes to join the legions to be with Our Master. No more pain and eternal love, joy and peace in Heaven!
It is Well With My Soul!
