My deepest sympathies to Michelle, Danny, Samantha, and Hurricane. I was Larry's caregiver for the last 6 months of his life. He was a generous person who loved his family. I learned so much from him like how to roll out perfect dumplings and what truffle butter was. Lol. I also never met anyone till now that loved NY style pizza and Florida Panthers hockey as much as me. Larry-you will be missed!

As a young boy, you always look for an older man to be like. Of course you have your father, but sometimes you are lucky to have more than one. Uncle Larry, I could not have been more blessed with a godfather, than I was with you. Whether it was a panthers game, or just a sleepover, you never failed to put a smile on my face. You are a great example of the impact a loving man can have on someones life. Your jokes always came at just the right time, and you were always reassuring. Having a godfather like you is exactly what it sounds like; from God. You and Aunt Michelle are a huge part of my life, and my love for you will never cease. Thank you for the life you lived. You will be missed, but never forgotten.
With love,
Tyler Kuhn

Larry,
Thanks for the smiles, the laughter, the simple conversations we had almost daily. Most of all, thanks for being an extraordinary friend. The Lord now has a giver by his side. Your friendship will remain with me forever. The Blue Hen has flown ... God speed my FRIEND.

25 years ago when we met you were my girlfriend Michelle's boyfriend, and then her husband…..you were our best man when Peter and I got married and shortly thereafter…..the godfather to my son Tyler…..then I became your health inspector at the Museum Cafe (awkward!)……and last but not least, my co-worker at DBPR……….but most of all……..my friend, a devoted husband to one of my best friends and a wonderful father to two beautiful children………yes Larry, you will be missed but I thank God that you are no longer in pain and are now in peace…..you will always be alive in my heart and the countless memories will continue to keep your spirit alive……..until we meet again, my friend…….Doree Kuhn

I didn't get the chance to work with Mr. Vavala at DBPR, he retired shortly after my hiring but I've heard so many great things about him. My heartfelt sympathy and prayers are with the family and his closest friends.
