Coach Mike gave us the gift that lasts more than a lifetime, the Will to Win. He changed the way we felt about ourselves and our teammates. He is a wonderful example of what a "Coach" can be.

At Spring Hill College we knew him as Ziggie. He had a knack for reading people and making us laugh at our own worts. We taught, coached and mourned Steven Kyropcyk's death in Viet Nam together. He was my friend. I'm sorry I lost contact. God Bless Mary Kay and his children.

Mike Gallagher was a great source of inspiration in my life. He brought a winning attitude to STA and helped me grow as a young man. Mary Kay and his children have suffered a great loss. He will always be remembered fondly.

As one of Coach "G's" "Baby Raiders" in the fall of '64 and then later a member of the Varsity in '67 & '68, I join his family in their loss. He was a "Guy's-Guy" who not only impacted his student's lives by his actions on-the-field but also in the way he cared for his family. Thanks Coach!

Coach,
You made our world a much better place because you taught us that we could. (I CAN,I CAN) You literally were the focal point of change at St Thomas Aquinas and everyone who has gone there since 1964 has been impacted by you. See you in the second half Coach.

I was saddened to hear that Mr. Gallagher passed away on Monday. He was my first homeroom (113)teacher at St. Thomas Aquinas in 1964, my freshman year and his first year at STA. He was an inspiring teacher and had a fantastic sense of humor. He helped put our ailing football team back in the headlines. Senior year he continually reminded us to read the items on his bulletin board in his World History class. When he had collected each of our Mid-term exam papers, he casually walked over to the bulletin board and removed the entire exam which had been posted there for a WEEK! No one had noticed! He left a lasting impression on most of us in the class of 1968 and I'm sure on those who followed us. My sincere condolences to his wife, his children and grandchildren.
