Michael J. McCarthy

McCarthy, Michael J., 85, of Boca Raton, Florida passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2009. Born in Chicago, Illinois on September 13, 1923; he proudly served as Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy. Mr. McCarthy was a registered Civil Engineer in 7 states and retired after 35 years as V.P. of construction with Ragner-Benson Construction, Inc of Chicago and Pittsburgh, with the admiration and friendship of colleagues, competitors and employees alike. Mike was a past President of the Boca-Delray Council of the U.S. Navy League. He was a lifetime Eagle Scout and a century member of the Boy Scouts of America. He is survived by Edna Mae, his life partner and beloved wife of 54 years. He was a loving cousin to John Busch and Wanda of Steamboat Springs, CO; and godfather to Charlie and Michael Busch. He is also survived by his sister Catherine Condon of St. Louis, MO and his brother Jerry McCarthy of MI. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at St. Lucy Catholic Church, Highland Beach. Burial will take place in the family plot at Bronswood Cemetery of Hinsdale, IL on Thursday, April 30, 2009 at 11:00 am.
