Today at my desk i was thinking of Dr.Romano he saw my on when he broke his femur imagine a 12yr old with that injury , Dr.Romano made me feel so comforatble and told me my son would be ok , after his surgery Dr.Romano saw him every other week at his plantation office next to PGH , He was such a kind man my son is now 26 and always talks about Dr.Romano . He will be missed .

Our family was shocked and devastated to hear of the passing of this truly wonderful man. He cared for our daughter, a few times a year, from the time she came home from a Russian orphanage, age 2, while year after year watching, graphing, plotting and calculating the exact moment that he would Need to operate, a surgery that would help her walk normally!
He still agreed to see her long into her 20's, and when she called his number and then looked online, today, now 27, it was then we learned of this terrible tragedy!! I never experienced a man, a physician, anyone, who was so truly caring, so honorable and good, and so truly gifted! I can't imagine there are many like him.... one man, who touched, changed and improved the lives of so many children, so many families!! It is difficult to imagine why a man so beloved, and so good, should be taken so young! I pray his own children can know what kind of man their father was, and how many families owe him such a debt of gratitude! I hope the world is as kind to his children, in his stead, as he was, to so many of ours! Our family's thoughts and prayers are with his family. He will remain in our thoughts and in our hearts forever, and his spirit will live on in the thousands of lives he has touched! RIP Doc!

I am sooo sad to here about peter Romano passing. He was a miracle . And had a big heart ❤ . He took care of my daughter. The surgery he did on her 18 urs ago he had never done . Be fore but he wacth one of his Call leagues had done it . Soo I put all my faith in him. . And he don't d Awesome job of course. Heaven has gained angel . He has touched soo many lives . He will be soo missed . And prayers also go out to his family. God bless u all .

I was Dr. Romanos first external fixator surgery in 1997. As my friends are now starting families, I was doing research to help find a friend the best orthopedic, and upon looking up Dr. romanos information, was so saddened by discovering his passing. As a seven year old with a broken femur, and frightened parents, Dr. Romano helped us through the entire process. The women who worked at the front desk use to keep a picture of me up there to show other kids going through what I went through (me jumping in the pool with the pins sticking out) (If anyone has it, please email!)
Truly, the world has lost a great man.

I will never forget the hope that Dr Romano gave to me after the birth of my daughter Freddy was born with a condition known as phocomelia. He closely followed her after surgery knowing that she attended school overseas. He treated her like he would his own daughter. I just found out today of his passing. Our family is saddened. We love you Dr Romano and you will forever be in our heart. Rest well my friend.

It has been many years since we have seen each other or spoken, but I will always cherish memories of the fun we had during our internship and residency at UCLA. While being on call every other night for 2 years was painful, you never lost your sense of humor and could always cheer up the rest of us no matter how dead tired or disheartened we felt. You were always the life of the party as the saying goes....in truth you were the one person of our entire internship class who could always make me laugh. It goes without saying that the beautiful essence of Peter Romano will be missed by everyone who had the good fortune of knowing or being cared for by such a really gentle soul.

I am so saddened at your passing;
Peter you treated my daughter for a possible growth plate incident, thats where we met.
Then 3 years later with no where to turn, our son stopped standing and walking. You immediately dropped everything, saw my 2 year old son Quinn, and identified osteomelolytis in his pelvis. You saved his future as he is know shooting for broadway.
Years later, a vendor of mine relayed a story about his son. I sent him to you and you saved this young man from a future of pain for the same condition.
You are a Saint and will be missed her on earth.
God needed you in heaven as you will be right by his side that i am sure.

Saved my Sons life more than once, he was the Kindest and most intelligent Man we ever met. Dr. Peter Romano forever touched, healed and inspired every single Child he ever Treated. We were blessed to find him in Umatilla Florida, he flew there on weekends to treat Children with no Insurance. My Son was his Patient till he was 18. Your an Angel, R. I. P. My name is Anthony Vitiello. I was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and scoliosis by Doctor Romano at around 2 years old & treated by him throughout my 19 years of life. My heart is truly in pieces. So many people in this world many people could only dream to affect people in the same positive way that he did. He performed 6 surgical procedures on my legs, treating me with love and respect every single step of the way. I will never forget this man, and I will carry his influence forever more. Thank you Dr Romano, for all the countless lives you've changed. and may you rest easy, I'll miss you sir. :-(

It is with a heavy heart that I write this. Dr Romano was treating my daughter for scoliosis. He was very kind. She had additional problems and he always addressed those without an issue. It's very hard finding a Dr you trust and he was definitely trusted by us. My deepest condolences to the family and friends he's left behind.

I am writing this with deepest sympathy, I sadly found out of Dr. Romano's passing today when I was looking to tag his page in the FB album of my son Cory's Leg Surgery 8Yrs, ago Today (Dr, Romano was the 1st Doctor to see my son when he was born on July 21st 1997 & frequently through his life). Our family is absolutely heartbroken at Dr. Romano's passing. Dr Romano capably performed surgery on my daughters fractured arm a few months ago and we were all so blessed to have met such a wonderful, talented compassionate, kind, capable, and dedicated orthopedist that in a short while we came to love, respect and trust. I so looked forward to seeing Dr Romano at our appointments as he was just such a lovely and caring soul. Please accept our deepest sympathy, prayers, and condolences and know that you all will be in our thoughts and prayers.

It really is a blow to me that Dr. Romano passed away. Dr. Romano had been treating my daughter Elizabeth's scoliosis problem for almost two years. He was such a caring and patient doctor. I told him that we were at the same age and we both spent the same period of time at ULCA. Because of this accidental connection, he always took extra care for Elizabeth's problem. I sincerely appreciate what he did for my daughter. Rest in peace, Doc.

I met you when you first came to Fort Lauderdale!
You met me on Saturday morning and your father was with you.My seven year old Son had dislocated his arm.You were so pleasant.Very soft spoken to my son.You kept just talking to him and before you knew it,you had popped his elbow back into place.Plleasant experience for all. You will be missed by all.

Truly an inspirational human being. Always spoke so highly of his children, his wife and his family. He always nurtured and took care of our entire family when our son was born with an orthopedic issue. We are all heartbroken he is gone, heartbroken that the world no longer has this angel. RIP!

Peter J.Romano was the first physician to send me physical therapy patients over 20 years ago. He was an incredible doctor, mentor and person. I will always remember him and how he has influenced me as a patient advocate and practitioner. I will miss him and he will be missed by many. I hold his family in my prayers.

I am very sad to learn of Pete's untimely death. I was fortunate to be able to be his age group swim coach. He was an outstanding swimmer with an excellent work ethic even as a youngster. He had a marvelous sense of humor. He will be missed by many. I will be keeping his wife and children in my prayers.

Peter was genuine and a special person. I vividly remember him personally delivering to our office a Christmas gift on Christmas eve when the travels in heavy traffic alone would have had all others remain home. He was a superb and caring physician that will be missed by all.

I am very sad to see this news. Dr Romano, you were so helpful and caring with my son during his early and adolescent years, treating his orthopedic issue. You never rushed us and always made the time to answer our questions. You also gave us good advice about not rushing into surgery, reassuring us that he would either outgrow this or adjust. Dr Romano performed everyone of my daughter Brittney's multiple surgeries over twenty years. She is now 26, when the time came to find an adult doctor, we were crushed then,. Now we are simply heartbroken. He was a blessed man of God and the pediatric orthopedics practice has lost one of it's greatest doctors. God bless his family and friends left behind.

I worked for Dr. Romano when he first joined our group back in the early 90's. I still remember when he dressed in the office for Halloween as "Peter" Pan. He was a giving, happy, kind, funny and most humble man. He went out of his way to take care of my grand-daughter last year. He will never be replaced and missed terribly by so many including me. My prayers go out to his family.

Peter you inspired my entire family through Indian Princess, Indian Guides and the Children's Ballet. You motivated the kids to want to do things the best they could and you inspired me to be a better father. Your example of driving home from camp and back(3.5 hours each way) in order to participate in events for the betterment of your kids guilted me into doing the same for mine. Thank you for the inspiration. We will miss you greatly but think of you with a smile often. Thank you for being such a great person.
